I chose to read Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher for
my first best sellers. I chose this book because I heard from my friend that it
was really good and she usually likes the same kind of books I like. I also
choose this because it was on the list that was handed out of recommended books
to read and I remembered my friend talking about it. The author sounds good to
me because he has written another teen book and has a major publication for
young adult books. He also is a song writer, orchestrator, conductor, and
pianist which is pretty cool. Also the reviews for the book on good reads were
mostly good like four or five stars and they were raving about it. It also was
a New York Times bestseller so a lot of people must have liked it. It also
sounds very interesting. It is about a girl who committed suicide and recorded
13 tapes of her explaining to the thirteen people who are the reasons she commuted
suicide why they helped make her do it. But I turns out that one of the people
whose fault it was that she killed herself actually liked her.

why i read
I read for many different reasons. You are required to do it
for school so that’s how I’ve read most of the books I’ve read. Some of them I
didn’t want to read but ended up liking, but other id didn’t like. I read
because you can feel like your experiencing things you haven’t or will never
experience. Like I read a book about a girl who has cancer and I’ve never had
cancer and probably won’t. I like to read because you can imagine a little
story in your head like a movie but it lasts longer. I like to read because it
can help me fall to sleep sometimes. I also like to read books about something
that I can relate to or slightly relate to. Like in the fault in our stars I
could relate to having someone in my family having cancer. I like to read because
you can take a break from reality. I like to read when I am bored and there are
no good shows on or nothing to do. I like to read when a book is very
interesting and wants me to keep reading. I like to read when the author has an
interesting story or idea that he wrote a book on.
